Addicted to CAS meets more Christmas NBUS...

NOTE:  This is my second post of the day...please scroll down to have a peek at the first one :)

Hi guys!

How we all doing?  I imagine all my fellow countrymen (and women!) are looking forward to what promises to be a nice sunny bank holiday weekend!  Fingers crossed!

Today's card is for the challenge at Addicted To CAS which is 'Holiday'.  I haven't played along with them for a while now and this card came to me straight off when I saw the code word.

I think this could be the first card I've ever made without a sentiment...?!  There wasn't really any room for a sentiment, plus I figured that with a sparkly Christmas wreath slapped on the front it was pretty obvious what occasion the card is for!  ;)  This wreath stamp is an NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff...check out Darnell's blog for the full run down!)  Also, I think this would count as a QACAS card too...again, see Darnell for the meaning.  I love that she comes up with her own language...every one of Darnell's posts are a learning experience, you've got to give them a read if you haven't already!  She makes some stunning cards too, but I think that goes without saying ;)

In real life this card is a little more interesting than it looks in this picture because I added sparkles!!  It would hardly be Christmas without sparkles would it?!!  Let's see if you can see it a bit better in this picture...

...hmm..maybe?!  Sparkles and a splash of red and I was happy :)  Oh, I nearly forgot...the glittery wallpaper has made another appearance - love this stuff!  Just for another little Christmas sparkle :)

Thanks for stopping by, I love seeing you all ;)

A little baby girl!!...

Hi guys!

How ya doin'?!

On Monday, some friends of ours finally welcomed their beautiful little bundle of joy into the world!  Her name is Chloe and we cannot wait to meet her!  Well, I can't anyway, not so sure about the DOH...don't think he's quite as bothered...you know what boys are like ;)

So of course, new baby = a card!  Well, I got to make two this time as my friend wanted a card to give to the proud new parents too ;)

These cards weren't based on any challenges, but they are both based on cards I've made previously for challenges.

This is the card I made to give from us and it was an updated version of this card...

...and this is the one I made for my friend to give and it was based on this card...

The news is that despite and emergency caesarean, mother and baby are doing well and after the 19 hours of labour followed by a 12 hour day at his job on a dairy farm, Dad has just about caught up on his sleep and is now smiling!!  :)

Thanks for stopping by ;)

Marshall's birthday...

Hello there!

I'm here today with a belated post for 'my' Grandson's birthday.  His birthday was on Tuesday and I had the card ready and made on time, don't worry, just not posted on here!  He turned four this week and I hope very much that he had a fabulous day!  We haven't seen him for three years now :( and we miss him lots...hopefully we will see him again soon :)

I used Marion's card over at Muse for inspiration for my card...

I used Marion's layout combination of a few bold horizontal stripes with the main image popping up perpendicular to the stripes.  As beautiful as Marion's card is, I had to make it a little more suitable for a small boy!!

This card came together fairly quickly which was a bonus!  I hope little Marshall liked it ;)

Thanks for stopping by ;)

a Christmas chalkboard fusion...

Hey peeps!

Get me, two cards in two days!  Hopefully I'll be able to keep it up :)

Today I have a card for the Fusion card challenge.  I consider it to be a 'fusion' card as I used the chalkboard element from the inspiration image and loosely used the sketch...that's where the layout started anyway...I hope you can see that!?

Here is the inspiration board...

...and my little card...

Can you see the sketch?!  I kept the banner and exchanged the flower for a circular snowflake-y element.  I have had this stamp for years and I think this is actually the first time I've used it on a card...shame on me!  I 'adjusted' the panels too...they're still there, just in a different proportion to the sketch ;)  I kinda ad-libbed with this card, I had a vague idea in my head when I started and then just made the rest up as I went along...I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out too which is always a bonus!

The sentiment is embossed in WOW's White Twinkle embossing glitter which is GORGEOUS!  However, due to my lighting set up still being the same as it was the last time I tried to take photo's of sparkles you can't see that!  I tried taking a close up photo but it really didn't show anything so it wasn't really worth posting...I tried though!  Thinking about it, I should've embossed the tree using the same powder, it may have added a touch of elegance...maybe I'll make another one that's more sparkly!  ;)

Thank you for stopping by guys ;)
