Today is my sister's birthday and I really hope she likes her birthday card. She's a big fan of purple so hopefully she will :)
I made this card with the help of this months' St. Luke's Charity Challenge. The challenge is to create a one layer card. I don't think I've ever made a one layer card before?! I love foam tape so this was certainly a challenge!
I decided to try something I saw on Jennifer Rzasa's (amazing!) blog a little while ago. I nested positive die cuts within negative ones and this is how it turned out....
And just to prove it's only a single layer....
Thank you to Jennifer for the inspiration, St Luke's for the challenge and a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sister!
Thanks for dropping by :)

This is an interesting twist on one layer - strictly speaking I guess it's still 2 layers as your "one layer" decoration is on top of your card. However, we're not the sort of blog that is strict about this kind of thing so you're card is perfect for our challenge - just thought I'd point it out as other one-layer blogs would be stricter.
ReplyDeleteHow you've nested the images and the colours you've used is so clever and makes for a gorgeous card.
Thanks so much for braving our "much dreaded by most" one layer challenge over at St Luke's.

I adore these colours - and really like the way they nest into each other forming a "single" layer! Great work. Thanks for playing along with St Luke's Charity Card Challenge!
ReplyDeleteGreat one layer card love the vibrant colour thank you for joining in our challenge over at St Luke's
