2 years already...

Hey, hey!

How are we doing people!?  I hope you all have some fabulous plans for the weekend, be they busy and action packed or just to chill and catch up with friends and loved ones :)

I have a card today that I have made for 'my' Granddaughter...as you know, she's not technically mine, but I am known as Nanny Sian and I love her loads!  ;)  It' her second birthday on Wednesday and I just cannot believe two years have passed already and I've not met her yet!!!  DOH's son, wife and little Madison live in Australia...maybe one day :)

I made this card using the current (just about!) sketch from Retro Sketches...

I went with pink...as you may have noticed!  But that's about as 'little girl' as this card got!  She's a proper little grown up from what I know of her on Skype etc...so hopefully she'll like this :)  I'm also hoping that this card arrives in a reasonable amount of time...last year I made a shaker card for her first birthday (this one here) and it never occurred to me that maybe a card going through customs that rattles might be a cause for concern...I was wrong!  By the time it actually made it to its' intended destination it had been opened and had a big sticker on it from the drugs squad in Australian customs saying that it was safe!!!  Doh!

The only bit I missed out was the bow.  It wasn't intentional, I just forgot and then I thought it might be too busy?  But then again, it may have made it more relevant for a little girls' birthday card :)

Here's the Retro Sketches sketch;

Thank you so much for stopping by, have a fabulous weekend!  ;)

  1. Happy Birthday to your little "grand-daughter", Nanny Sian! You definitely need to come out to Australia to visit! You can do a whirlwind tour of your blog friends, too. ;-) My brother (who lives in London) filled my birthday card envelope with glitter and those little metal "happy birthday" sprinkles a couple of years ago. I laughed my head off when I saw the Customs stickers everywhere. I was imagining the poor Customs officer trying to pick up all the glitter and stuff it back into the envelope before repackaging, lol! I do appreciate that they send it on once they've thoroughly checked it out. Your card is gorgeous, I'm sure it will be loved!

  3. Madison will love her beautiful card in shades of pink, Nanny Sian! Not having a bow will make it fly through those vigilant customs peeps, so that's a good thing! Enjoy the weekend! Hugs, Darnell

  4. You must be the youngest 'grandma' on the planet, Nanny Sian - and the coolest, as well! Love this card for your 2 year old little 'grown-up'! Mega watt smile all over her face when this sweet 'just for her' package arrives. Kiss marks all over the computer screen when she Skypes to thank you - guaranteed! I so hope you'll have opportunity to meet her; spoiling and pampering those wee ones in real life is priceless!! The story of your shaker card....kind of funny; kind of frustrating! Don't those customs guys know the fine artistry that goes into making such treasures *grin*!! Yes, best they do their job...as long as that didn't entail too much dismantling! Happy sighhh...visiting your blog, seeing your stunning creativity...joy, joy, joy!! Hugs~ c
